After a restful break, Soul Plaza is ramping up preparations for our first ever night at Islington Arts Club.
It's going to be a special night following a hiatus spent digging tunes and contributing our time to so many fields - Soul Plaza FLINTA* have been hard at werk in the NHS, doc films, writing physics paperz about lasers, community organising and film photography development, medical anthropology, working against immigration detention, and crunching numbers BTS in the music industry.
We can't wait to come together, dance, play, and RELEASE - sharing this spring-into-summer night with you for FREE, as we always do.
Born in Oxford but made in London, Soul Plaza are an all womxn collective who are taking the UK by storm. From the beginnings of learning after hours in a local community centre, their shared vision of an inclusive, queer night became a monthly residency and crowd favourite.
Fast forward a few years and they've played alongside the likes of Sherelle, Annie Mac and Joy Orbison - to name a few.
Their sound incorporates fresh global club music meets pop remix meets booty shake, with the aim of creating spaces for collective release and full self expression.
Now 10 members strong spread across the UK, Soul Plaza continues to grow through both live performances and radio shows in London.
