Romare Residency: Every Friday in June (20th June)

Venue favourite Romare takes up residence at The Jazz Cafe this June. He’ll be painting vivid sonic landscapes across all four intimate Friday nights with a mix of both DJ sets and live shows respectively, alongside some very special guests incoming… Much like layering brushstrokes on a canvas, Romare constructs his music through intricate sampling, live instrumentation, and deep-rooted storytelling. With a background in African American Visual Culture and a cut-and-paste production style inspired by collage artworks, his DJ sets & live shows unfold like living audio compositions—blending the raw, the rhythmic, the energetic and the emotive. Over the years, Romare has evolved from an artist known for jazz and blues-infused dance cuts, to an artist that weaves psychedelic house, disco and wider electronic elements into his sonic palette. The end result of this is a release back catalogue littered with beautifully crafted near-cinematic soundscapes. His approach to his performances mirrors his fluid and expressive studio approach - so you can expect each live & DJ set to bring a unique, one-off reflection of Romare’s limitless creativity.
