Welcome to the first Affine Dark Science _Ambient Event at KAIKU. A listening experience - evolving around dark cinematic and melancholic sounds. For this special occasion KAIKU will open its doors already at 20:00. Room one will be transformed into a cozy melancholic salon with seating possibilities to enjoy the listening experience. Affine Dark Science [AFDS] is a platform curated by Laura MRLS, dedicated to exploring the darker contours of sound through a monthly radio show, an emerging record label, and now, a dedicated ambient event series at Kaiku in Helsinki. Rooted in melancholic atmospheres, cinematic tension, and industrial undertones, AFDS focuses on listening experiences that unfold beyond the traditional club context. Each radio episode invites local and international artists to present guest mixes that reflect their ambient, experimental, and melancholic sensibilities—offering space for introspection, distortion, and deep sonic storytelling. As a natural extension, the AFDS label and events aim to deepen this narrative, highlighting releases and performances that blur the lines between sound art and music, intensity and stillness.
