For its debut event, Ether invites you for a night that brings together a stellar lineup of femme bass blasters, culminating in this sonic exploration of the world of bass music. More than just a party, ether is a FLINTA run collective which seeks to create a space where the dance floor becomes a platform for community building and cultural exchange. Dive into the deep end with us… see where it takes you…
Illuminating our way are two Montreal staples, Giotto (visuals) and Crusty by Duffy (lights). The architects of the ether.
Opening the night will be Runa and Asha, a duo whose name is at this point synonymous with dubs, wubs, and all things on the low end of the sonic spectrum. Your guides through the subterranean frequencies and deconstructed rhythms of the ether, they will see you through the passage and into the wormhole…
For her Montreal debut, Kansas City born, New York based producer/DJ Sister Zo will be our compass. Sister Zo is best known for her unconventional, undefinable production style with releases on hallowed labels like Scuffed, Fever AM and 3024, helping reshape and blur contemporary definitions of the bass genre. She’s graced the stages of many legendary parties/clubs such as Sustain Release, Club Toilet, The Bunker, Basement, and Nowadays just to name a few. Her energetic DJ style takes influence from a plethora of genres weaving sets rich with rumbling basslines, rolling percussions, and unpredictable grooves.
Closing the night out is a b2b between Montreal producer, DJ, and sound system engineer Honeydrip and (formerly) Toronto-based bass breaker MIASALAV, making her first official set as a newly minted Montreal transplant. This powerhouse fusion of Honeydrip’s sound, rich with echoes of Caribbean and UK subgenres, and MIASALAV’s mastery at the intersection of bass, club, and techno is sure to be a highly anticipated highlight.
…see you on the other side.
