Tengu Presents: Soundsystem Sundays is a new two-part series focusing on low-end bass frequencies powered by Dublin's Rub A Dub Hifi. For night 2, we invite Deep Medi honcho and staple of UK Bass music, Mala for a 2hr set alongside MC SGT Pokes. Mala was instrumental in the creation of the dubstep scene, forming Digital Mystikz with Coki and, together with Loefah and Sgt Pokes, launching flagship club night DMZ. A true pioneer of dubstep with deep roots in jungle, dub and soundsystem culture we cannot wait to have him play the Rub A Dub rig. Support on the night comes from Ambit, EMA & Governess. South London born Croydon veteran, Pokes’ voice has been synonymous with the bass soaked sounds of DMZ, Swamp81, Deep Dark & Dangerous, Wheel & Deal, Magnetic Man, Deep Medi, Ntype, Benga and Skream to name a few of the heavyweights that have sought out his vocal control of the dance. Founding member of DMZ with Loefah and Digital Mystikz as well as the founder of Croydub and Roulette club nights- it’s always about good vibes when Pokes is hosting on mic. Over the years Rub A Dub Hi-Fi have brought their Sound to festivals across the country. Curating and powering many stages at different festivals and events. After launching their new bass music night in 2018 called Subconscious they held events hosting Parly B, Jacky Murda, Mr. Williamz, Brother Culture and to finish the year they brought Deep Medi don Mala for a night no one will forget. In November 2019 they hosted Channel One Soundsystem who have pioneered soundsystem culture for 40+ years. See you in the dance!
