Karlie Marx / TB-316 / Vee Dagger
We're descending on Gut Level for the next iteration of our gritty, silly, sleazy dyke night, silicone carbide! We're excited about the new venue for several reasons - not least the later finish meaning we can get a proper club night in! As regulars will know, Gut Level has been a central part of Sheffield's queer nightlife for years now. Silicone Carbide is about to get louder, later, and thanks to the recent installation of a fog machine, murkier!
Karlie Marx is a multi-genre weapon; a DJ turned producer turned promoter with a reputation in London’s queer scene for her dramatic, technical, and joyful sets. In 2024 she made debuts at Unfold, DRUMSHEADS and Body Movements, launched her lesbian night PLASTYK, played alongside KAVARI and I. JORDAN at her night NEUROTICA, and continued her residency at Dalston Superstore. Expect cutting edge techno mixed with 2010’s EDM nostalgia: grime into trance, jungle into punk, hard house into stripper trap. She’s a d¥ke, she’s a doll, she’s a threat.
TB-316 is Silicone Carbide's founder and resident DJ, peddling sweaty dance tracks with a bit of industrial grit (and plenty of sleaze). She's played for events such as No Borders No Binaries, and more recently Leatherdyke. An enthusiast of filthy basslines, wonky drums and the occasional sexy dancefloor anthem, if you've been to Silicone Carbide before you'll know she brings the energy.
