Sweetpea artist bio:
Sweetpea is a powerhouse in the drum and bass scene, known for her diverse sound, fierce DJ sets, and commitment to pushing boundaries in the genre. Hailing from London, Sweetpea has spent years honing her craft. Gracing events from Hospitality to Sofa Sound to Rupture, she has earned a reputation for blending deep, rolling basslines with intricate, energetic beats. Her style is a dynamic fusion of classic rhythms with a modern edge, creating a sound thatís equally fresh and nostalgic.
Cutting her teeth on Pirate Radio, one of her proudest moments came in 2021 and 2022, hosting the BBC Radio 1 Drum and Bass Show. Sweetpea now hosts a bi-weekly residency on the highly regarded KoolFM, after being handpicked to join the fresh roster in 2023, headed up by RINSE FM.
A passionate advocate for diversity and inclusivity, Sweetpea is a key figure in the EQ50 collective, working tirelessly to support underrepresented talent in the scene. Her involvement in EQ50, tutoring with Pioneer DJ and other grassroots movements has solidified her position as not just an artist but a mentor and activist helping to reshape the drum and bass landscape.
With releases on esteemed labels, her music has gained the attention of BBC Radio 1, DJ Mag, RA, Drum and Bass Arena, Data Transmission and Beatport. Sweetpea's continued work with the likes of DLR's Sofa Sound, Benny L's Tres-2B and now delving into the world of jungle with her debut on Stretch's AKO Beatz and an EP with Hardcore Energy, Sweetpea is undoubtedly one of the most versatile artists in the scene.
