Long overdue, the resilience of the unmanageable, the rebellious yet solidary sounds are to be celebrated again. BEEK is back with a club night featuring four artists whose takes on bass music reflect their tireless dedication to progressive nightlife cultures. Looking forward to fractured symmetries, wavering narrations and teetering grounds.
Fukinsei
Growing up in the Italian noise/free party scene and starting to spin her records during hip-hop open mics in Rome, Fukinsei marks her sound as a path between light and shadow, where each style intersects with bad flows, creating a harmonious asymmetrical narrative. The footwork, jungle and noisy veins from which she draws inspiration talk to a sound system culture that plays on a different terrain. Her creature Fukstep is a Berlin based project and label linked to crossover sounds and all the hybridisations the new schools have forged.
Miri Malek
Miri Malek is a Scottish-Iranian DJ, producer and resident of 90mil dedicated to making queer dance-floors in Berlin more low-end. Their creative approach is guided by a powerful blend of wonked out dubs, twitchy cuts, and powerful sub-heavy selections. Miri is also one of the co-founders of Dwam, an interdisciplinary arts collective fostering creative connections between artists of different disciplines, with a heavy leaning towards collaboration, experimentation, and improvisation.
N:in
Project Enthusiast N:in is aiming to create an experience beyond the borders of ambient textures and echoing deconstructions, a space where club culture and studio experimentation seamlessly resonate together over Hamburg’s riverbanks. With a passion ignited by contemporary bass, IDM and experimental techno influences, they explore more deeply the avant-garde side of electronic dance music: a vast spectrum of transitions that mutate into half-step drum breaks, through bleeps and grounded bass lines.
