Ascension on Wax are proud to be hosting their 10th Ascension party since 2019 for the launch of the label's third release AOW003 Toronto Hustle & Sean Roman The Unity EP. Toronto Hustle and Sean Roman are flying over from Canada to Berlin for this one so it’s an extra special event. Ascension on Wax are also honored to be welcoming the incredible berlin based jiyun kim on the decks who will be bringing some soulful late night deep house grooves to the dance floor. Come and join us for an insane evening of US East-Coast Deep House Music and the usual warmth of our ascension party dancing community. ABOUT THE PARTY The Ascension Party's began in 2019 by 2 best friends Max Logsdail (AoW) and Matthew McNaughton (Lavan) due to the limited so called US East Coast ‘Roots House’ sound being played in berlin. The project was realised to add more of the 90's influenced Chicago, NYC and Detroit flavor to the Techno and Tech-house heavy Berlin scene. These events started off via word of mouth through the founders extended circle of friends and a private messaging group and they regularly bring in 150-200 people attending, many whom come back time and time again. This is a community focused party which is about the shared love of music and openness on the dance floor. With over three decades of experience, Mark has cultivated a reputation for his exquisite taste, innate ability to curate high-quality music, and unparalleled creative direction. Mark’s passion for house music is evident in every aspect of his work - whether behind the decks, in the studio, or at the helm of his labels. As an artist, Mark has released music on some of the most respected labels in house music, including Freerange Records, WOLF Music Recordings, Local Talk, Distant Music, Nick Holder’s DNH Records, and Ron Allen’s Strobe Records. His sets are a testament to his gift as a DJ, seamlessly blending new, classic, and obscure records into a cohesive and electrifying journey. Over the years, he has graced the stages of Toronto’s premier venues and legendary warehouse parties, sharing the spotlight with house music icons such as Frankie Knuckles, David Morales, Kerri Chandler, Honey Dijon, Jimpster, Mood II Swing, Dennis Ferrer, Kenny Dope, Dam Swindle, Satoshi Tomiie, Ron Trent, Demuir, The Martinez Brothers, Karizma, DJ Spen, and Derrick Carter, among others. Sean Roman Sean Roman aka Mutt‬‭ is a Toronto based artist who has been releasing music and DJing parties‬ since 2005. Sean has been recognized internationally for his drum’n’bass releases and sets‬ under the moniker‬‭ Mutt.‬‭ Over the last decade, he's shifted focus to house, garage, disco, and‬ 2-step, gaining renewed global recognition for his DJ sets and production. Sean works with a‬ diverse selection of imprints such as:‬‭ Nervous Records, Cr2, Strictly Rhythm, Freerange‬ Records, Spacedisco, Hot Waves, Jeudi, Under The Shade, Elektroshok, Steppers Club,‬ Selections, Local Talk, Creative Source, CIA‬‭ and‬‭ Metalheadz.‬‭ As well as his own imprint‬‭ Lately‬ ‭ Bass Records.‬ jiyuna kim jiyun kim has established herself a force in Berlin's house music scene over the past years playing a mix of sleek, soulful yet high-energy grooves, providing a rhythmic blended narrative and spot-on selection. Influences from her roots in RnB and hip-hop culture are woven into her sets, giving them a distinctive and compelling edge. Born and raised in Germany with Korean heritage, jiyun’s musical journey began with a classical music education in her childhood. This foundation sparked a lifelong love for music, which ultimately led her to her first residency at Berlin's renowned Prince Charles. Over the years, she has deeply immersed herself in the underground electronic music scene, drawing inspiration from a diverse range of genres. Regularly performing at iconic venues such as Tresor, Paloma Bar, and HÖR in Berlin, with frequent appearances on the renowned radio station Flux FM, and bookings at Nightmoves, Jupiter Disco, and The Lot in New York City, jiyun kim continues to captivate audiences on both national and international stages. ‭
