Horoom: Jorkes, nd_baumecker, Valley Dolly

An expert digger, hardware enthusiast and audiophile, nd_baumecker’s sets have long been known to heads as a foundational part of the Berghain / Panorama Bar's identity: deep, unpredictable, funky, bassline-heavy, melodic, and seamless flowing between different rhythms and key-changes. "A well-known choreographer once said: 'Surprise is important.’ I think this approach describes my DJing best. I’m constantly oscillating between disco, house, techno, electro, broken beats and pop.”—reflects Frankfurt-born Andreas Baumecker, whose residencies left a lasting impression on the local intimate bars, clubs, and record stores in his hometown before establishing his label Freundinnen Audio and moving to Berlin in 2004, where he becomes part of the Berghain predecessor, OstGut family, followed by the honorary duty of shaping the euphoric sound of the Panorama Bar as an in-house booker years later. nd_baumecker releases records on labels such as Playhouse, Running Back, OstGut Ton, and his own imprint, Freundinnen. Since 2010, he has been crafting sonic visions alongside Sam Barker under the Barker & Baumecker moniker, manifesting in exceptional records and boundary-pushing live performances. Joining him at Horoom is Jorkes—ecstatic resident of Stuttgart's Romantica, visionary behind Freeride Millenium, radio host, DJ, and producer—whose artistic practice and activism are deeply rooted in egalitarian ideals, the fight for equality, gender and queer issues. Their house-infused, pop-tinged, and melodically rich mixes consistently set the stage for grand, unapologetically hedonistic celebrations; Valley Dolly, an extraordinary voice of the Georgian queer scene and a member of Hydrash Collective. As an artist inspired by the transgender origins of dance music, Valley Dolly continually explores and challenges conventional cultural norms. Pursuing radical forms of expression and diverse aesthetics signifies the momentum of transformation and subversion within the Tbilisi club culture.
