EN What once started out in an old men’s sauna (hence: Herrensauna) in Berlin as a spontaneous private queer party without skyhigh ambitions has become a global phenomenon pushing hard-edged and queer dance music culture, stepped in a martial, yet flamboyant and queer set of acute aesthetics. Founding fathers CEM & MCMLXXXV take the reigns alongside Herrensauna resident SPFDJ for another night of sharp sets and piercing grooves at Blitz. > I think it was something that was created more out of a spontaneous feeling and the urge to provide a more intimate atmosphere, and of course, to create a party for us and our friends. DE Was einst in einer alten Herrensauna in Berlin – hence the name: Herrensauna – als spontane private Queer-Party ohne große Ambitionen begann, hat sich zu einer globalen gefragten Eventreihe entwickelt, die scharfkantigen Techno mit martialischer, zugleich flamboyanter und queerer Ästhetik feiert. Die Gründerväter CEM & MCMLXXXV übernehmen gemeinsam mit Herrensauna-Resident SPFDJ die Regie für eine weitere Nacht voller schneidender Sets und durchdringender Grooves im Blitz. > Ich glaube, es war eher etwas, das aus einem spontanen Gefühl heraus entstand – aus dem Bedürfnis, eine intimere Atmosphäre zu schaffen und natürlich eine Party für uns und unsere Freund:innen. Wir hatten nicht vor, eine neue Techno-Plattform in dieser Stadt mit einem besonders durchdachten Konzept zu gründen, < erklärte MCMLXXXV einst die bescheidenen Anfänge von Herrensauna. Aus diesen ehrlichen Ambitionen der Mitte der 2010er ist mittlerweile eine internationale Plattform geworden – mit weltweiten Events, einem eigenen Label und vor allem: wegweisender Musik. Während andere Communities mit zunehmendem Erfolg an Charakter verlieren, hat Herrensauna sich seinen charmanten, verschrobenen Spirit und seine enge Gemeinschaft bewahrt. Das heutige Line-Up im Blitz unterstreicht einmal mehr die martialische Magie der Herrensauna – Kreaturen & Sonderlinge der Nacht, vereinigt euch!
