On Tuesday, May 13, Long Gong welcomes special guest HERE for an extended live set. Through the omnipresent darkness, they conjure distant figures on the edge of the horizon, pulling our sonic lens slowly but surely into focus. As we cast gaze upon the subject, a distorted wave splashes upon us, and we plunge deeper into the observatory exercise. The process repeats ad infinitum, and as we approach the other side, we begin to get a sense of the bigger picture. HERE is the duo of Brandon E. and Benjamin, Kendall. They will perform from 10pm – midnight. They are bringing the full rig. Prepare yourself to receive the full transmission.
Sphente opens the passageway with a 2-hour amplified, electroacoustic gong session from 8pm – 10pm. The system & subs have been freshly optimized for ultra stable delivery of pure low frequency energy. If this is your first gong of this nature, expect nothing and let the equilibrium speak for itself.
Long Gong operates on a “pay what you can, if you can” basis. Donations are appreciated and directly support the artists, and help cover production expenses. But there is no expectation to contribute if you are not in a position to do so. Your presence is valued more than money.
You can bring mats, pillow, blanket, or whatever makes you comfortable if you wish, or just flow. There are a few mats available in house, first come first serve.
Although volume is kept at lower levels relative to club nights, it is still recommended to bring earplugs in case you may need them, particularly if positioning yourself close to subwoofers.
Please do not use your phones on or around the dance floor, and please do not take photo or video anywhere in the space during the event.
8pm – 10pm: Gong
10pm – 12am: HERE
