Mun Sing presents Frolic
Mun Sing brings his latest EP 'Frolic' to frenzied life, with a cathartic live show that sees him embody the blue faced scarecrow character that stalks the record. Intense performance intersperses with moments of sombre reflection, leading you down a path beginning with defiance, and ending with emptiness.
Support comes from a live ensemble comprising Stolen Velour, FLOCO and Aria SL, plus live performance by Mun Sing collaborator and ‘Frolic’ vocalist ROOO.
Mun Sing is the solo alias of Harry Wright, a producer, songwriter, visual artist and DJ from Bristol. He has gained a reputation for exhilarating live performances and complex theatrical club music productions. His recorded output often merges tongue-in-cheek playfulness with obtuse rhythms and warped vocal sounds, resulting in some fiercely original dance music. Mun Sing has produced and collaborated with artists such as BABii, Iceboy Violet and GAIKA, and was recently invited by Björk to perform with her in both Reykjavik and NYC.
Stolen Velour, FLOCO & Aria SL
The ensemble will perform live following the release of their debut EP ‘Holdfast’ via Bristol’s Illegal Data (run by Mun Sing and NE$$). The record is named after the anchoring root system of seaweeds. Enmeshing their love of synthetic and analogue technologies with the beauty inherent in transformation, the record pulls listeners into an eerie sonic landscape where digital aesthetics meet acoustic instrumentation, experimentalism and classical sensibilities. The EP fuses club, folk and pop influences with nods to anime and musical theatre, crafting a sound as unpredictable and chaotic as the label it lands on.
ROOO
Frolic guest vocalist ROOO experiments with dark electronic and pop archetypes. Through intimate vocals, unconventional songwriting and forward-thinking sound design, ROOO conveys narratives of empowerment, queerness, obsessions and anxieties.
