Direct from Johannesburg’s underground, DESIREE’s MMiNO party makes its return to London on May 24th, taking over Village Underground for it's second UK instalment. Meaning ‘music’ in sePedi, the language of the Basotho people of South Africa, MMiNO celebrates the rich diversity of sounds from the diaspora, welcoming everyone to a judgement-free dancefloor. Joining MMiNO’s founder DESIREE is Omagoqa, the Durban trio redefining Gqom with their raw, bass-heavy ‘uThayela’ sound. They bring their high-energy productions that have seen the likes of Tresor, Sonar Festival, and Boiler Room. Also on the lineup, British-Ghanaian producer Hagan blends UK club energy with African percussive heritage, earning acclaim as an electronic innovator with his sound that blurs the lines between afrotech, gqom, afrobeat, jazz, and funk carioca, MMiNO founder & curator, DESIREE—one of South Africa’s most electrifying selectors—returns after sets at Panorama Bar, Glastonbury, and a Coachella debut ahead.
