Indeed, two decades since founding a world-renowned party and festival in his native of Nottingham, it’s impossible to talk about club music in the UK without mentioning Lukas’ characteristic ‘Rudeboy Techno’: an approach to selection which interprets the sound via the lens of those definitively British mutations, and threads together wobbly and wonky club tracks across diverse BPMs. ​ Whether he plays this rubbery, thumping techno then or the sort of low-slung chugging plates one only collects warming-up illegal warehouse dancefloors, Lukas offers a contemporary take on club sonics that actively defy dance music categories.
