The wait is over: Pablo Bozzi makes his debut in BASEMENT. Having delivered one of the standout sets of WIRE, Bozzi switches up the script for a special techno set. Bozzi is renowned for his nice-and-sleazy take on italo and & synth-heavy ‘80s sounds, but his range extends well into the throbbing, mutant and harder edged. This will be special. Jennifer Cardini makes a similar detour for a special techno set. Having made her name in Paris as a resident of Pulp, Cardini’s wide-ranging musicality has made her an international favorite. Her label curation runs the gamut, and her reputation rests on her capacity to fuse genres into a seamless, vital whole. Ian Crane returns to the room. Crane is one of the breakouts of the modern NY underground, pushing a euphoric, rave-y ethos.
STUDIO brings you three of its most consistent artists: The Carry Nation, Jason Kendig and Meilgaarden. All three embody an artful, thrilling and fresh approach to house music that overflows with bold vision. The Carry Nation are NY favorites for a reason. At every opportunity, they bring a radiant transcendence to the dance floor. Honed over years at their party of the same name, The Carry Nation hold two decades of NY house music history in their sets - it’s in their selections, their mixing, their interpersonal chemistry. Hearing them play, you feel the realness and the immaculate craft in every moment. The same could be said for Jason Kendig. A selector of boundless knowledge and outstanding taste, Kendig is a leader and an exemplar of the modern queer underground. His tireless work as a DJ and organizer has been a beacon both for his peers and countless talents who have followed. Meilgaarden represents the young generation, playing with a liquid funk and trippy, progressive-tinged ravey bombast.
