NikNak – turntablist Chineke! Orchestra Experience a ground-breaking fusion of turntablism and orchestral music with the world premiere performance of Parable, inspired by the graphic novel adaptation of Octavia Butler’s Parable of the Sower. Award-winning turntablist, DJ and producer NikNak joins forces with Chineke! Orchestra for an innovative new work that bridges electronic soundscapes with classical instrumentation. This bold collaboration reimagines storytelling through sound, using turntables as an instrument in dialogue with a full orchestra. This new orchestral piece, created in collaboration with acclaimed cellist Ayanna Witter-Johnson, explores Parable of the Sower’s powerful themes of resilience, community and change, transforming the novel’s dystopian themes into a compelling sound world. This event is supported using public funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
