Picnic People Panic meets A Love From Outer Space A.L.F.O.S. Compilation Album Release Party A Love From Outer Space (A.L.F.O.S.) was founded by Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnston in 2010 at a small underground nightclub in East London. Their signature long sets, never exceeding 120 BPM, blended dark acid dub, dreamy alternative disco, and melodic indie dance, creating an immersive atmosphere that quickly developed a cult following. In 2012, the release of Masterpiece: Created by Andrew Weatherall captured the essence of A.L.F.O.S. at The Waiting Room, featuring tracks like A Love From Outer Space by A.R. Kane, which inspired the party's name. As A.L.F.O.S. gained worldwide recognition, its hypnotic sound became legendary. Even after Andrew Weatherall’s passing in 2020, Sean Johnston has continued to carry on its vision, preserving the spirit of slow-burning psychedelic and Balearic sounds while keeping the BPM under 120. This February, A.L.F.O.S. released its first-ever compilation album, marking a significant milestone in its journey of boundless love for dance music and unique club experiences. To celebrate this release, Picnic People Panic (PPP) welcomes Sean Johnston, the co-founder of A.L.F.O.S., for a special night. His deeply layered sets, built on driving disco, cosmic krautrock, resonant dub, powerful post-punk, and acid/proto-house, continue to captivate dance floors across the UK and beyond. Joining him on the main floor is Sisi, a resident DJ at Rainbow Disco Club. Known for his impeccable track selection, he has a rare ability to extract the Balearic and psychedelic grooves hidden within each record. Whether opening the night with a delicate touch or steering the energy into a euphoric peak, Sisi’s unwavering vision and deep storytelling have mesmerized dance floors worldwide. At PPP, Sean and Sisi are regarded as equal forces in shaping today’s scene, and their shared presence will create an electrifying and limitless atmosphere. The first floor is curated by HQ2, a team made up of core members from Rainbow Disco Club’s early years. Kabuto, founder of Daze of Phaze, will take control of the floor all night long. Since his breakthrough performance at Houghton Festival last year, he has continued to gain recognition, drawing in a devoted following. His hypnotic, boundary-pushing sound will shape an experience just as immersive and powerful as the main floor. The fourth floor embraces musical diversity, featuring DJs who push beyond conventional boundaries. DJ Shintaro, the 2013 Red Bull Thre3Style World Champion, is known for his genre-blending sets and collaborations, including UZUMAKI with DJ Chari and YuruFuwa Gang. Ereka seamlessly fuses hip-hop, techno, and house, creating a unique and deeply engaging set. Masayasu, a member of MYSS and founder of the Things label, rounds out the lineup with his unpredictable and ever-evolving musical direction. A.L.F.O.S. carries a unique energy—pioneering yet effortless, vibrant yet hazy, familiar yet otherworldly. This perfectly aligns with PPP’s vision of an ideal dance floor experience. A LOVE FROM OUTER SPACEとは何か。 Andrew WeatherallとSean JohnstonによるイベントA LOVE FROM OUTER SPACE（以下A.L.F.O.S.）は、2010年イーストロンドンの小さな地下のナイトクラブで始まった。当時、Andyが「ヒプノビート」と命名したBPM120を超えることがないダークなアシッド・ダブ、ドリーミーなオルタナティブ・ディスコ、メロディアスなインディーダンスが交差するロングセットは沼化した小さなフロアに熱狂を生み出した。 2012年にリリースされたMasterpiece: Created by Andrew Weatherallは、まさにThe Waiting Roomで行われていたパーティーの一夜を表現したMIX作品で、イベントタイトルの元ネタとなった、A.R.Kane / A LOVE FROM OUTER SPACEなどが収録されている。その頃からA.L.F.O.S.はユニット名義として、異質のロングセットが世界的に注目されるようになり、2020年にAndrew Weatherallが宇宙へと旅立った後も、Sean JohnsonはBPM120以下の折衷的なサイケデリック、バレアリックサウンドを継承し、宇宙からの愛を提唱し続けている。 今に至るまでにダンスミュージックへの終わりなき愛、唯一無二のクラブ体験をもたらしてきた、A.L.F.O.S.が初のコンピレーションアルバムを今年の2月にリリース。Picnic People Panic（以下PPP）では今回のリリースを記念してAndrew Weatherallと共にA.L.F.O.S.を創設したSean Johnstonを召集する。ディスコのドライブ感に艶やかなジェスチャー、コスミッシェやクラウトロックの宇宙的な輝き、轟音ダブの共鳴、勇ましい爆音のポストパンク、そしてプロトハウスやアシッドハウスなど、ミッドテンポの枠の中に位置するサウンドのみで構成されたスタイルで、UKを中心に熱狂的に支持され続けている。 そんなSeanと共にフロアを作るのは、フェスティバルRainbow Disco ClubのレジデントDJを務める Sisiだ。一つ一つの楽曲を宝石の様に扱い、潜在的なバレアリックやサイケデリックのグルーヴを生み出す稀有な存在だ。彼の信念は柔和なオープニングセットであっても、歓喜を巻き起こすピークタイムであっても変わる事なく、そんな彼の魔法に世界中のフロアが魅了されてきた。国は違えど、両者の現シーンにおけるDJとしての意義は同等に崇高なものであるとPPPは捉えており、この2組のみで構成されるメインフロアには底なしのエネルギーが生まれると信じている。 1FのフロアではRainbow Disco Clubを立ち上げ初期から支える運営スタッフ達で構成されたオーガナイズチーム「本部2」がキュレーションする。昨年のHoughton Festival出演以降、見事なブレークスルーを果たしたDaze Of Phaze主宰のKabutoがAll Night Longで出演する。世界各地にヘッズを生み出し続ける彼のみで構成されるフロアは、メインフロアに引けを取らない程の禍々しさを纏うことになるであろう。 4Fのフロアではダンスミュージックとしてカテゴライズされる以外は、可能な限りの自由度と雑食性の高いラインナップが集う。Red Bull Thre3Style 2013年世界チャンピオンで、DJ CHARIとタッグを組み、ゆるふわギャング等を客演に迎えたキラーチューン「UZUMAKI」をリリースしたDJ SHINTARO 、膨大な音楽の造詣を活かし、ヒップホップ、テクノ、ハウスを融合させた独自のセットを展開するEREKA、プロデューサーユニットMYSSのメンバーで、 レーベル〈Things〉を主宰するMASAYASUの３者が揃う。 A.L.F.O.S.にしかない活気に満ちて先駆的でありながら、奔放で寝ぼけたような薄気味悪さはがもたらすグルーヴには、PPPが目指す理想郷の要素がたくさん潜んでいる。ここには、バラ色の回顧や自画自賛的なエゴイズムは存在しない。天空に舞い上がるほどの次元の高揚感を、この夜は体験できるであろう。 DOOR: ¥4000 *UNDER 23 ¥2000 前売券/ADVANCE TICKETS: ¥3334
