Spring has sprung and it is time to put the moves back into the movement! Liberation remains the destination, and the campaign to secure the future of the Soanes Centre as a hub for pioneering environmental education and community activity in Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park is still in full swing. No lease = no funds, so your support is vital. (And if you need a catch up on why this is important, more info is below!) With the support of a lineup of local legends we’ll be taking the DIY spirit of the Soanes late night and moving to the dance floor. We’ll also be raffling off some prizes and will be live screen printing onto your old tees, tote bags and whatever else you fancy with artist and Save Soanes campaigner Morgan Passmore-Barry. LINEUP: Natty Wylah (Dj) Anja Ngozi (Dj) mellowdramatics Tony (CDR) Date: Friday, 25 April 2025 Time: 8pm - 1am Location: The Engine Rooms, Unit 30 Bow Triangle Business Centre, Eleanor St, London E3 4UR IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The proceeds from ticket sales will go toward supporting the Soanes Centre. We’ll also run a raffle and have some v cool merch for sale, with funds going towards the campaign. The cash bar will be run by the venue (the campaign will not receive any proceeds) Help us save our community centre! The Soanes Centre has been a vital community hub providing outdoor education in Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park for the last 30 years, and now serves over 8000 local schoolchildren a year. The Save Soanes campaign has been working towards a secure lease for the Soanes Centre since last summer, when the council served a surprise eviction notice. Though we resisted, the fight continues, and unfortunately no lease means that our fundraising capacity is severely limited so please give generously. All ticket sales go directly to support Save Soanes and the vital educational programmes run by Setpoint London East happening in the centre, and there’s an option to add an additional donation. We've set ticket prices as low as we are able to, but the reality is that whatever we make will only barely address our needs.
