The time being now. House-centric eclectic selections for dancing in the community hub of Post Bar, Tottenham. Done purely for the love of it.
Following an ace debut party in December, we’re back at our favourite Tottenham spot for a spring edition with sets from Leopold, Kalimo, tpongle, wynni and jim tything.
Leopold, known for his exceptional ‘Natural Element’ radio show (currently on Voices), now has a label of the same name, with the first release ‘Smoke’ by Jon E. receiving praise and plays from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Marcellus Pittman, Shy One and Jimpster. Often DJing at Spiritland, Brilliant Corners and the like, and recently in the Swiss Alps warming up for Musclecars at Shapes Festival, his sets bring a unique energy to the floor whilst blurring genre boundaries and merging the old with the new.
Kalimo is a producer and record collector whose mixes and productions draw from ambient, meditative textures, with the concept of flow being a consistent theme alongside movement and rhythm.
Tpongle has been collecting and playing records for over 10 years. Taking lots of inspiration from the Romanian and Berlin underground scene, she is drawn to minimal, deep and cerebral sounds, with a reputation for playing long, slow-burning and thoughtful DJ sets.
jim tything took up DJing after hearing 2manydjs' album As Heard On Radio Soulwax Pt. 2. Many years later, he now leans into warm, soulful and idiosyncratic selections, but is still influenced by the unpretentious sense of fun in that mix.
wynni will be warming up the room with soulful sounds.
