t’s our 1st Anniversary!!! And to celebrate we’re turning everything up to MAX. Not only have we got James Sims (Dharma Collective/Otra) joining Smudge But we’re maxing out the license with a 12am start & extra late finish! We’ve got some other fun planned which we will tell you all about in good time! Not one to be missed! James Sims is serious Liverpool head with wide ranging crates from Jazz, Broken Beat, Latin, Samba, Disco, Afrobeat, Boogie, Hip Hop, Deep Jazzy House, and other outer-worldly rhythms. You’ll find him hard at work most weekends, driving the city into a dancing fever. One half of Dharma Collective with Kole Akeju, together they’ve held residencies at many of Liverpool’s other important music institutions, supporting the likes of Gilles Peterson, Dan Shake, Errol & Alex Rita, Antal, Mafalda, Crazy P, Joe Goddard, Cody Currie & many more; along with appearances at festivals such as We Out Here and Gottwood. As well as one of the hearts and minds behind Otra, Liverpool’s finest global grooves club night that’s wall to wall every edition. So far they have had the likes of musclecars, Lakuti, Zakia, Poly Ritmo, Alexander Nut and Cosmo Sofi grace the decks. And I Think You Know The Reason Why.
