Just as the Hobbes Music label likes to blur the lines between dance music and records that work well on your headphones, this event will blur the lines between a live gig and a regular clubbing experience, a bit like a festival.
The first section of the evening (9-11.30pm) will be a gig, featuring three of the labels finest local live exponents: from dream pop husband-and-wife duo Sarah/Shaun's five-piece band via Accident Machine's modern flip of live acid house to Gaming's cut-up breaks-n-bleeps.
All gig ticket holders gain entry to club night from 11pm with Auntie Flo, Hobbes, Jacksonville, Exterior + more

Sarah/Shaun
Launching their second EP, Someone’s Ghost, Sarah/Shaun (pronounced simply Sarah Shaun), alias husband-and-wife duo Sarah and Shaun McLachlan bring their full, five-piece live band to open the proceedings.
Someone’s Ghost follows last year’s rapturously received debut EP, It’s True What They Say?, which who wooed hearts and wowed critics, attracting fans across the board: Artist Of The Week in The Scotsman, rapturous reviews from The Skinny and Tokyo's Ban Ban Ton Ton blog, BBC 6Music airplay courtesy of Nemone (Mary Anne Hobbs' Morning Show), among many more.
They played gigs supporting Glasgow's huge Glasvegas, at festivals (Kendall Calling, Dunbar Music, Hidden Door), plus a slew of venues across the Scottish capital, ending the year with a trio of shows supporting Glaswegian 80s pop legends The Bluebells at Aberdeen’s Tunnels, Dunfermline’s PJ Molloys and Edinburgh’s Liquid Rooms, while The List magazine tipped them among their Ones To Watch For 2025.

Accident Machine
Accident Machine are percussionist/DJ Mairi Buchanan (aka Mairi B Pots) and singer/songwriter/producer/DJ George Thomson (aka George T, aka George Demure), who have been cooking up a heady stew of live acid house on the local live circuit for the past 18 months, with a rapidly swelling fanbase.
Mairi will be a recognised face among Bongo regulars as a result of her monthly residency at Mumbo Jumbo, now running upstairs at Chromatic, myriad DJ spots at Club_Nacht and/or the Street.
Going back to his time running the seminal Tribal Funkion club night at The Venue and setting up the Underground Solution record shop on Cockburn St in the mid-90s, George’s Edinburgh roots run deep!
These days collaborating with more fellow musicians than you could fit in a minibus, not least Joseph Malik and Quinn Whalley (Paranoid London, Decius) and presenting a monthly show on EHFM, George is an extremely restless soul. He also released a glorious double album, Ear Candy Dandy / Dandy In Dub via HM last year.
‘It’s a most lovely, swimmingly blend of motivations, feels and deep grooves that effortlessly comes together in a generous offering of electronic music: the very epitome of the Hobbes label’s remit in delivering leftfield unique visions of now techno, house and club sounds.’ MONOLITH COCKTAIL
‘There’s a playfulness to the tracks here which all feel markedly different from from one another as they pogo through a plethora of genres and moods’ THE SKINNY
‘He’s so talented!’ JD TWITCH (Optimo)
'Love the album and the Late Again dub is mega' LEO MAS
‘Lovely stuff’ S/A/M (Music For Dreams/DK, Cafe Del Mar, Pikes, Playasol Radio and many more, Ibiza)
'Love the LP. Sounds really together, production is awesome. I love the aesthetic. Vocal tracks sit nicely with instrumentals. Vocals sound light-hearted' THE MAGHREBAN
'Sounds great' AUSTIN ATO

Gaming
Alias Alan Bryden, Gaming has brought his essential live break beat, electro and IDM flavours to numerous HM events at Bongo, following the release of his acclaimed debut album, Scenes From A Deserted City in late 2019.
Since Covid, he’s also shared responsibility for the increasingly talked-about monthly Attack/Release events at Glasgow’s Bloc (recently celebrated in a mini-documentary by the amazing Stephen McLeod, alias YouTuber allmyfriendsaresynths).
Gaming performs completely live, using a full bank of equipment: sequencers, synths, fx etc, while generating his own live visual accompaniment on the fly from a laptop. It’s quirky, funky dance music with bleeps, bloops and beats.
With a follow-up album in the final stages of production, expect to hear a raft of new exclusives from his set.
‘It falls somewhere between electro, IDM, and the kind of synth wave that Com Truise has made his own’ DJ MAG
‘There’s a lo-fi sensibility…. with clear parallels to computer game music. But there’s also a relaxed, playful vibe that’s hard not to love’ ELECTRONIC SOUND
'I like this. A bit Plaid-y. Confident programming' MIXMASTER MORRIS (re Urban Decay Sale - then shared link to album on Facebook)
‘This is superb. Thank you so much for sending it to me… Brilliant music’ LAURENT GARNIER
‘Brilliant album, thank you!’ NIGHTWAVE
‘Magic, love it' DOMENIC CAPPELLO (Subculture)
