"A message of freedom and individuality, a stand against the system—KAOS was born to empower people to find and express themselves without fear or judgment. It's a personal manifesto, an artistic and human legacy inspired by urban subcultures, social movements, and a rebellious spirit". On Friday, May 9, the philosophy of the experimental dance music platform will be represented by its founder, Héctor Oaks—a turntable master and relentless digger, a "techno-punk", distinguished by his inimitable mixing style. Performing under the concept of KAOS are Newa, whose work delves deeply into raw inner explorations, personal narratives, and introspective storytelling; Minimal techno pioneer and innovator Richie Hawtin, known as Plastikman, immortalized at the crossroads of avant-garde art and cutting-edge technological experimentation. A champion of second-wave Detroit techno and a key figure in defining its evolution, Hawtin is the mastermind behind the Plus 8 and M-nus labels, through which he has shaped groundbreaking shifts in the landscape of electronic music history. His extensive discography spans over three decades and includes a wide array of releases under various aliases, ranging from the iconic Plastikman and F.U.S.E. to a myriad of other monikers such as Concept 1, Circuit Breaker, Robotman, Chrome, Spark, Xenon, R.H.X., Jack Master, Richard Michaels, UP!, and many more. His immersive audio-visual works and performance projects consistently resonate, cementing his presence within the most venerated institutions, museums, and galleries. As articulated from his perspective: "Art and music, architecture and music, painting, sculpture - these mediums live together”. Enigmatic local powerhouses HVL and BMI, whose productions have been vital in crafting the unique sound of Georgia's electronic underground, will go back to back. Over in Horoom, Kancheli returns alongside Dito and Italian selector Paquita Gordon, a record collector known for unearthing rare gems from the realms of psychedelia, black music, ambient, dub, folk and spiritual jazz, creating something hard to define, personal and unique, and linked with a 360 degrees club heritage, that goes from house and techno to DnB and trance, with perfect and enthralling mixes. Paquita's research focuses on tribal aspects of sound, starting from its origins and following these roots to their most contemporary declinations, triggering a triumph of the ritual and collective dimension of the musical experience.
