After over three decades in the game, Karizma stands as one of the most respected names in international dance music. The Baltimore native and pioneering DJ/producer was inducted into BBC Radio 1’s prestigious Hall of Fame in 2014, highlighting his extensive contributions to house music. Revered as a “DJ’s DJ,” Karizma is praised for his technical prowess behind the decks. His unique live remixing style, chopping, looping, and layering tracks on the fly, has astonished even veteran DJs. Throughout his career, he has often explored new sounds, diving into darker, bass-heavy blends of house and hip-hop breakbeats. His sound and DJ style have influenced producers and selectors around the globe, particularly in how gospel-inspired vocals, soul, and Baltimore club rhythms have found their way into contemporary deep house.
