SHAKARA returns for its biggest edition yet, and we invite you to be a part of the dance, the joy, the sweat, and the spirit that’s makes this one of Toronto’s most beloved summer staples. Presented by local.global, SHAKARA is a seasonal club night dedicated to celebrating the pulse of African music and the community that surrounds it. Since launching two years ago, we’ve built a space where rhythm is the language and everyone is welcome to speak it loud. This time, we’re pulling up with the all-star lineup that defines the sound of SHAKARA: Adeola & ISA – local.global’s own resident DJs, join forces with Hangaëlle & Orè – SHAKARA favorites who’ve set the dancefloor on fire time and time again. Expect everything from Afrobeats and Amapiano to sweet blends that span the diaspora and hit straight to the soul. Come dressed to form SHAKARA—to shine, to express yourself, and to move the way your spirit leads. We need our day ones. We need the curious new faces. We need our people. Let’s show out on May 23.
