ARCA [XL RECORDINGS]
Venezuelan-born Arca (Alejandra Ghersi) has spent well over a decade redefining sound, identity, and technology. A genre-defying artist, she blends electronic music and performance art, shifting between composer, DJ, painter, and provocateur, infiltrating contemporary aesthetics with unexpected force. Her Grammy-nominated KiCK series reshapes Latin pop, club music, and experimental sound, while her AI-generated remixes with Bronze push boundaries further. Notable collaborations with contemporaries such as Björk, Kelela, Rosalía, Safety Trance and FKA Twigs, Arca's work transcends categorization. Her iconic status is solidified by repeat invitations to major festivals Club to Club and Sonar, with her landmark &&&&& mixtape released on PAN as their 100th release.
Arca has performed at iconic venues such as New York’s Park Avenue Armory and Bourse de Commerce - Pinault Collection in Paris, collaborating with 4D Sound for immersive sonic experiences. A longtime collaborator of visual artists such as Jesse Kanda and Carlos Sáez, her interdisciplinary work includes striking digital pieces with Frederik Heyman, with Prada/Rakata winning Best Dance/Electronic Video at the UK Music Video Awards in 2022.
Arca’s work is deeply personal, exploring themes of gender, trans identity, and psychosexuality. Her Mutants1000000 community offers a digital space for those embracing her ethos of fluidity and self-expression. Arca is not just an artist—she is an ever-evolving entity, inviting us to co-create the future alongside her.
