Techno legends Pan-Pot return to Chicago on Friday 4.25 to debut their new label / experience / movement / super-rave simply titled HUMAN, with support from rising UK powerhouse Mha Iri and Chicago's own Dunes of Dawn.
"In times where we become more and more numb to the sounds of the world around us, we need to remind ourselves of our basic nature. As our humanity is bound up within us, we can only be human together. Only to bring back this feeling to the dancefloors of the world, HUMAN was reborn."
Tassilo Ippenberger and Thomas Benedix, the dynamic duo behind Pan-Pot, met at Berlin’s SAE Institute and bonded over their shared passion for techno. Their music blends electronic experimentation with minimal stylings and the murky, ominous sounds that define their name.
A defining moment in Pan-Pot’s career came with the release of their debut album, Pan-O-Rama, in 2007. This album offered a unique, 360-degree view of techno, balancing heavy, peak-time club tracks with deeper, intricate
atmospherics, and included the hit "Charly." Subsequent tracks like "Confronted" and "Captain My Captain" solidified their reputation as top-tier producers with a timeless production style.
In 2014, Pan-Pot launched their own imprint, Second State, which has become a creative platform for their music and that of like-minded artists. This label has brought new names like Amelie Lens, Indira Paganotto, Stephan Hinz, and Michael Klein into the spotlight, expanding Pan-Pot’s influence beyond music to events, art, and fashion. They released their second album, The Other, in 2015 and have crafted high-profile remixes for Carl Cox, Luke Slater, Planetary Assault System, Obscure Shape and Reinier Zonnefeld. Their relentless touring schedule has seen them perform at top clubs and festivals worldwide, including Time Warp, Awakenings, Glastonbury, Kappa Future, and Tomorrowland. Pan-Pot's unparalleled understanding of the dance floor, whether in an intimate club or massive
festival, allows them to traverse Techno, House, and everything in between with masterful precision.
After years on the biggest stages in electronic music, Pan-Pot released their project FORTE in 2023. The album, marking their 20th anniversary, featured ten tracks, each telling a unique story and reflecting their evolving sound and
global experiences. FORTE embodies strength and reflects on their journey, reinvention, and inspirations in a fast- changing world.
In 2024, Pan-Pot celebrated 30 years of Time Warp with an ARTE livestream performance that showcased their timeless style, characterized by rock-infused sequences, euphoric synths, and cascading white noise. This
performance at the legendary Maimarkthalle demonstrated their enduring impact on the techno scene. With no signs of slowing down, Tassilo Ippenberger and Thomas Benedix continue to push boundaries, solidifying
Pan-Pot's place as world-class artists, performers, and tastemakers in the electronic music scene.
